WASHINGTON, Jun 5, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The U.S. Supreme Court Monday declined to review the case of two reporters seeking to protect news sources from disclosure in a civil suit.
Scotusblog.com said the court is aware of settlement talks in the case, something that usually results in the court taking no action. Though there was a settlement in the case, the court had yet to be notified when it made its decision, Scotusblog reported.
The court, however, denied review without comment, leaving the appellate court decision finding no First Amendment guarantee of reporters' privilege.
