I personally witnessed an amazing lasting love. Ralph and Barbara Smith, married for 75 years, set the example of that love. Love is not just a feeling; it is an action and it is work. Love is not just affection for another but a steady wish for the loved persons ultimate good. I had the privilege to witness this beautiful man right after he saw his wife pass. He held her and just sobbed. What a touching experience. He had lived with and loved the same woman for 75 years. Even with the great happiness love can bring, sometimes there is sadness. We can't have one without the other, but a life filled with love can be worth it as I saw from Ralph and Barbara. The lessons I learned from this couple are the key to a lifelong relationship. -Dr. Matt Townsend
