COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nathan Horton had surgery Friday to repair an abdominal injury and will be sidelined for approximately six weeks.

The club makes its second playoff appearance next week.

Horton, a prized free-agent signing from Boston last summer, missed the first half of the season after shoulder surgery. He had five goals and 14 assists in 36 games before missing recent games with his most recent injury.

The Blue Jackets also reassigned defenseman Tim Erixon to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.
