MILWAUKEE (AP) — New Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski's first assistant is a former teammate from his playing days at Duke.

Wojciechowski added Chris Carrawell to his coaching staff Monday. Carrawell was previously an assistant with the Brooklyn Nets affiliate in the NBA Developmental League in Springfield, Mass.

Carrawell was also formerly an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Duke. He was the player of the year in the ACC in 2000.

Wojciechowski took over as Golden Eagles head coach last week after Buzz Williams left to take the same job at Virginia Tech. One holdover from Williams' staff, veteran assistant Jerry Wainwright, remains at Marquette.
