SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Authorities in Puerto Rico have filed 49 counts of sex crime charges against a man accused of sexually abusing his two stepdaughters and two of their friends for more than a decade.
The island's justice department said that the stepdaughters were 9 and 12 years old when the alleged abuse began and that their friends were in their mid-teens.
Justice officials said Tuesday that the alleged abuse occurred from 2002 to 2013 in the southwestern towns of Cabo Rojo and Hormigueros.
