PERTH, Australia (AP) — Another day of searching in the Indian Ocean has failed to turn up any sign of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. The Australian agency coordinating the search says the only objects scooped up by ships so far have been "fishing equipment and other flotsam" not connected to the jetliner that disappeared on March 8 with 239 people on board.

PARIS (AP) — Secretary of State John Kerry is in Paris preparing to meet his Russian counterpart in another bid to resolve the crisis over Ukraine. Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov (SEHR'-gay LAHV'-rahf) will discuss a U.S. plan to de-escalate the situation as Russian troops continue to mass along the Ukrainian border. U.S. officials say the plan covers the disarmament of irregular forces, international monitors to protect minority rights, direct dialogue between Russia and Ukraine and Ukrainian political reforms.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — NATO says a roadside bomb has killed a service member with the international military coalition in Afghanistan. The coalition didn't give the victim's nationality. Meanwhile, the Afghan president is accusing Pakistan of being behind a recent series of attacks and of blocking his government from striking a peace deal with the Taliban. His office says President Hamid Karzai made those accusations in a phone call to Secretary of State John Kerry, following three attacks in five days in Kabul.

BAGHDAD (AP) — A series of attacks in Iraq today has killed 16 people and destroyed a bridge. The deadliest of the attacks took place near the city of Mosul. Police say gunmen opened fire on soldiers at a checkpoint, killing seven. Hours later, a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle packed with explosives on a bridge near Ramadi, killing five people and sending parts of the bridge into the Euphrates river.

LONDON (AP) — Actress Kate O'Mara has died. She became a household name for playing Alexis Colby's scheming sister Cassandra "Caress" Morrell in the 1980s soap opera "Dynasty." She also appeared in the original run of British series "Doctor Who" and BBC drama "Howards' Way." Her agent says O'Mara died today in a nursing home in southern England after a short illness. She was 74.
