SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Jeff Cunningham scored two second-half goals to help Real Salt Lake beat the Chicago Fire three-to-one tonight. It is Salt Lake's third win in four games.
Cunningham opened the scoring in the 57th minute with a low shot, and Fire rookie Brian Plotkin tied it in the 62nd minute with a hard 35-yard shot that caught goalkeeper Scott Garlick off-guard.
Salt Lake pulled ahead in the 67th minute when Chicago goalkeeper Zach Thornton deflected Cunningham's left-footed shot into the net for an own goal. Cunningham then capped the scoring in the 77th minute.
The 29-year-old striker has scored six goals in the last four games and seven this season for Real Salt Lake.
