UNDATED (AP) — The NCAA men's basketball tournament continues today with the South and West regional finals, and a Miller brother will be coaching in each game. Archie Miller takes his surprising 11th-seeded Dayton Flyers to the court against No. 1 Florida in the South final at Memphis. A little later, Sean Miller will coach his top-seeded Arizona Wildcats against No. 2 Wisconsin in the West final at Anaheim.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia 76ers will try to avoid a history-making loss when they host the Detroit Pistons later today. The 76ers have dropped 26 in a row, tying the NBA record set by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010-11. The Sixers haven't played since Thursday's setback in Houston, and the Pistons come off last night's blowout loss to Miami.
UNDATED (AP) — The NHL schedule starts in Washington today as the Capitals host the Bruins this afternoon. Boston tops the East with 106 points while the Caps are one of four teams tied for the final two conference playoff berths. The other day game has the Pacific Division-leading San Jose Sharks playing at Colorado.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Australian Steven Bowditch was the leader as the third round of the Texas Open got underway today in San Antonio. Bowditch fired a 5-under-par 67 yesterday for an 8-under total, one shot ahead of Chad Collins and Andrew Loupe. Phil Mickelson made the cut despite opening with a 5-over 77. He opens today's round at plus-3 following a 2-under 70 yesterday.
CARLSBAD, Calif. (AP) — Dori Carter was the pace-setter heading into the third round of the LPGA's Kia Classic. Carter was 10-under par through 36 holes, two shots in front of Stacy Lewis and Cristie Kerr.
