TOOELE, Utah (AP) — A 10-year-old boy has been hospitalized after crashing during a weekend motocross event in Tooele County.
The boy was hurt after trying to ride his motorcycle off a jump Saturday at Miller Motorsports Park.
North Tooele County Fire Department spokesman Ryan Willden says the crash occurred around 7 p.m. Saturday.
A medical helicopter brought him to Primary Children's Hospital.
Willden did not say the extent of the boy's injuries or whether he was wearing safety gear.
Riders were participating in an event hosted by Rocky Mountain Motocross Series. The organization did not immediately respond to phone calls.
Willden tells the Deseret News (http://bit.ly/1qK5gVH) broken bones and concussions are common injuries in motocross competitions.
