CHELTENHAM, England (AP) — More Of That outlasted big favorite Annie Power in the final sprint to win the World Hurdle, the feature race on day three of the Cheltenham Festival on Thursday.
The race was billed as a duel between Annie Power, the 11-8 favorite, and Big Buck's, who had won four of the previous five editions of the World Hurdle.
The 11-year-old Big Buck's faded away in the final two furlongs and it was More Of That (15-2) who jumped the last fence well to challenge Annie Power and beat the favorite in the kick to the line.
It was Annie Power's first loss in her 11-race career, with a first trip over three miles proving too much for her.
The trainer of Big Buck's, Paul Nicholls, said after the race the horse would be retired.
