WESTMINSTER, Colo. (AP) — Three students have been arrested and others face possible discipline after marijuana-laced candies were passed around and eaten at a suburban Denver middle school.
KCNC-TV reports (http://cbsloc.al/PlKb61 ) that a full investigation is underway at Shaw Heights Middle School in Westminster and that two students have been expelled.
Adams County School District 50 spokesman Steve Saunders says at least one student brought the marijuana candy to school and shared it with friends.
When teachers noticed a few students acting strangely during class, the marijuana candy was discovered.
School officials say nearly two dozen students were involved, but some students say they didn't know they were given marijuana.
Marijuana, especially the edibles, has been a big topic of conversation at schools since recreational pot became legal in Colorado.
