VIENNA (AP) — An official says the number of extreme-right acts reported to authorities in Austria in 2013 rose by more than 10 percent over those in the previous year.

Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner says there were 574 "acts with extreme-right motives" in 2013, compared to 519 in 2012.

She says 1,027 criminal charges arising from those reported acts were filed last year as a result, compared to 920 the year before.

Mikl-Leitner spoke Monday in response to a question from a Greens legislator.
