JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Dr. Michael McMullan has been named to direct a program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center focusing on specialized care for adults with hereditary heart disease.
McMullan, an alumnus of the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Medicine, rejoins the medical center after a seven-year absence.
Nationally, less than 10 percent of adults who need it receive this type of care, according to the Adult Congenital Heart Association.
McMullan comes to the medical center from the Jackson Heart Clinic, where he had been a partner since 2007.
