2014 Women's History Month Celebrates Character, Courage, and

Commitment

ROCK ISLAND, Ill., March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- March is

Women's History Month and its 2014 theme celebrates women with courage

and commitment. To celebrate strong women who make a difference, Royal

Neighbors of America, one of the nation's largest women-led insurers,

has announced its 2014 Nation of NeighborsSM Program grants that will

award $100,000 to worthy women who strive to reach their dreams, pay

it forward, and make a difference in their communities.

"Royal Neighbors of America has been empowering women for more than a

century," says Cynthia Tidwell, President/CEO. "We encourage people to

nominate other worthy individuals in their community who show

character, courage, and commitment in making a difference in women's

lives."

From a teenager's dream to publish a magazine to build self-esteem for

high school girls, to initiatives that combat sex trafficking,

bullying, or efforts to help shelter battered women, Royal Neighbors

of America's Nation of Neighbors grants fund dreams and encourage

women to change the world. Since 2007, Royal Neighbors has awarded

over $1.5 million to help nearly 1,200 families and individuals in

reaching their goals and rebuilding their lives through the program.

Members of Royal Neighbors can nominate worthy individuals on its

website. An independent judging panel reviews each nomination and

determines the recipients and the monetary amounts to be awarded.

Grants are announced in the fall of 2014.
