PROVO (AP) — Brigham Young held San Francisco scoreless for the final 1:49 to post a 68-63 win and take sole-possession of second place in the West Coast Conference Saturday night.
Tim Derksen's jumper cut the BYU lead to two points, 62-60 with 2:55 left to play, but was unable to make it a three-point play. Matt Carlino followed with a 3-pointer for the Cougars and Eric Mika added a jumper to make it a seven-point lead, 67-60, with two minutes left.

Derksen drilled a 3-pointer to make it 67-63, but the Dons were unable score again while BYU added a free throw by Carlino in the final minute.
Kyle Collinsworth and Tyler Haws each scored 19 points to lead the Cougars (17-9, 9-4 West Coast Conference), who extended their home winning streak to nine games.
Derksen scored 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting to lead San Francisco (15-10, 8-5).
