BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) - The doctor who operated on the left knee of Colombian star Radamel Falcao says the forward is recovering quickly and has a 55 percent chance of playing in the World Cup.

Dr. Jose Carlos Noronha, speaking Friday on radio Antena 2 in Colombia, operated on the Monaco player on Jan. 25 in Portugal. He initially gave Falcao a 50 percent chance of recovering in time for the tournament.

He says "I think we can increase the hope a little bit to 55 percent."

Noronha says Falcao is "recovering very well." He talks with him daily and has visited him several times. Falcao remains in Portugal and is expected to go soon to Madrid or Monaco to continue his recovery.

Colombia opens against Greece on June 14.
