This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Eating your way through a city is one of the best ways to understand and enjoy what it has to offer. The ingredients, finished dishes and smells, tastes and traditions meld into unforgettable sensory experiences. These guided food tours are growing in popularity across the U.S. and around the world. Park City is now among the ranks of cities offering food tours because of Chris McLaws and Gourmand (Gore-monde) Tours.
Chris, owner of Gourmand Tours, would tell you food tours are a wonderful way to experience what a city has to offer... A long-time resident of Park City, Chris launched Gourmand Tours in April 2013 to allow visitors to experience Park City's culinary scene, in addition to snow activities.... Tours are held every Thursday starting at 4 p.m. with special deals for locals available.
The idea for the business came after Chris went to Seattle on a family vacation. She heard about the Savor Seattle food tour and decided to try it .... They met with a guide who introduced them to some of the city's best restaurants. She loved it so much that when she got back to Utah, she knew it was something she needed to start here. She's now been on tours in New York City, Minneapolis and San Francisco gathering information.
Gourmand Tours has people from all over the country taking a food and history tour on Main Street in Park City.... Tours vary from four up to 12 people. Chris likes to keep it small to provide the best experience. She also stops at historic sites so visitors get the full experience. Later if they want to return to one of the restaurants, they have an idea of what they'll find.
Chris coordinates with each of the restaurants beforehand so they're ready for her group..... She tells how many will be coming and what they'll be having. ....She can also accommodate special dietary needs and has developed partnerships with many Park City restaurants, which love the exposure. This business makes sense since Utah has over 20 million tourist visits each year.
For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
