West Jordan residents can expect a new Smith's Food and Drug Smith's Food and Drug to be constructed at The Highlands. The Highlands is a 370-acre master-planned community located at 78-hundred south and 56-hundred west in West Jordan, Utah.

The 123-thousand square foot store will be the second Smith's Marketplace in West Jordan. It will offer one-stop shopping with more than 100-thousand products from food and houseware to apparel, hardware gardening and general merchandise. A Smith's Fuel Station will also be added adjacent to the store.

The new Smith's store will be Energy Star rated, with open ceiling and skylights, and L-E-D lighting. Preliminary plans include a fountain, outdoor lighting, wireless access and outdoor music.

Smith's is purchasing the property from Peterson Development Company. Smith's Marketplace will anchor the first phase of the project, which will pave the way for the continued development of The Highlands.
