NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) - Police in the Bahamas say they are searching for two suspects in a drive-by shooting that killed four people and wounded several others.
Superintendent Stephen Dean said Sunday that a number of people have been detained for questioning. He said investigators are now asking for the public's assistance in locating two men in their 20s believed to be the shooters.
Dean said a car approached a Nassau park Friday night and those inside fired multiple shots before speeding off. Eleven people were hit. Detectives have recovered a suspicious car.
Nassau's New Providence island has experienced a surge of violent crime in recent years. The U.S. Department of State says the incidents are not directed at tourists but could place innocent bystanders in jeopardy.
