OREM (AP) — Holton Hunsaker scored 22 points, for the second consecutive game, to lead Utah Valley past Tennessee Tech 75-66 Saturday night.
Utah Valley ripped off a 17-4 run capped by a Hunsaker 3-pointer with 9:47 left in the first half, opening up 24-12 lead. The Wolverines took a 41-25 advantage into the break.
Jeremiah Samarrippas pulled the Golden Eagles (7-8) within nine, 57-66, with 6:14 to play but they wouldn't score again until Ty Allen's 3 with 1:25 left made it 72-60.
Hunsaker made 3 of 11 shots but scored 14 points at the free throw line where he tied a career-high with 16 attempts.
The Wolverines (6-7) overcame 20 turnovers by hitting 22 of 41 (53.7 percent) field goals.
Mitch Bruneel scored 16 points and Hayes Garrity added 13 in the win.
Dwan Caldwell paced the Golden Eagles with 17 points. Dennis Ogbe and Samarrippas added 13 apiece.
