RACELAND, La. (AP) - Three people have died and two were injured in separate shootings in Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes. Authorities also say the suspect is dead.

The Lafourche Parish Sherriff's Office said on its verified Twitter account that parish Councilman Louis Phillip Gouaux was injured in the first shooting Thursday night in Lockport and his wife, Susan "Pixie" Gouaux, was killed. Gouaux was being treated at a local hospital.

The sheriff's office said the second shooting happened in Raceland, where Ochsner St. Anne Hospital administrator Milton Bourgeois was shot and killed.

A third person was found dead in Terrebonne Parish. The sheriff's office identified her as Denise Taylor Freeman, wife of suspect Ben Freeman, who was found dead in his vehicle.

There was no immediate information about the second injured person.
