BATH, Maine (AP) - Police in Bath say a 12-year-old boy made up a story about a man in a minivan trying to abduct him.

The Times Record ( http://bit.ly/1bz6QP5) reports that after interviewing the boy again, police have determined the story was a hoax.

The boy, who was not identified, initially said the man approached him about 3 p.m. Wednesday and tried to pull him inside the van. The boy said he freed himself, ran home and called police.

The boy hasn't been charged. Investigators say they're still talking with him and his family.
