BRIDGETON, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey man apparently searching for warm clothes or a place to sleep got trapped in a clothing collection bin and died.

Police found 50-year-old Joseph Hanshaw dangling late Monday from the clothing box outside the Salvation Army Church in Bridgeton.

Police tell The Press of Atlantic City ( http://bit.ly/1f4f8CF) that Hanshaw was trapped by the hinged door. It took firefighters several minutes to dismantle the door and free Hanshaw.

He was pronounced dead at a medical facility.
