This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

The core of what this Bluffdale-based company does is assisted listening. What that means is they help people with hearing loss hear better in venues or even conference rooms. One of their core products takes audio from a sound system and delivers it directly to an individual's hearing aid or to a receiver devices in a special hearing piece.

Cory Schaeffer, co-founder of Listen Technologies, said the perception with hearing aids is those using them need louder, but what they really need is help with ambient hearing, where they can eliminate noises they don't want to hear and amplify the ones they do. That's what the Listen Technologies devices are designed to do allow the user to hear clearly and cleanly. Some of the newer hearing aid models even have a setting that will specifically connect with the technology.

The need for technology like this is great with around 17 percent of the population in the U.S. suffering from some form of hearing loss. That's why Cory and her business partners, Russel Gentner and Keldon Paxman, feel so strongly about what Listen Technologies is offering. Their idea is to facilitate connecting people with positive experiences through their assistive and adaptive hearing technology, no matter where they're at. Their assistive listening devices are compliant with government regulations under ADA, an important value throughout their entire 15-year company history.

You'll now find Listen Technologies in many venues across Utah including Abravanel Hall, both Hale Center Theatre locations, the Capitol Theatre, Rio Tinto and the Maverick Center. And they've had requests from many other places including churches and private homes...

Listen Technologies is now found in venues around the world. For more information, visit listentech.com.
