(AP) - Auburn's Chris Davis ran into the end zone and etched his name in college football lore _ and ruined Alabama's bid for a third consecutive national championship.
That was just one of the highlights of a rivalry week that altered the landscape for the upcoming bowl season.
Davis returned a missed field goal 109 yards for a touchdown on the last play as the Tigers stunned the top-ranked Crimson Tide 34-28.
"There's no doubt that he'll (Davis) always be remembered," says Doug Flutie, best known for his Hail Mary pass to Gerard Phelan to lift No. 8 Boston College over No. 12 Miami in 1984.
New No. 1 Florida State beat rival Florida, and the Seminoles are in position to play second-ranked Ohio State for the BCS title after the Buckeyes held off Michigan 42-41.
Missouri beat Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M 28-21 and will play in its first SEC championship _ against Auburn.
Other rivalry games saw South Carolina knock off Clemson, Oregon beat Oregon State, Stanford get past Notre Dame and UCLA top Southern California.
