SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah ended their regular season with a 24-17 victory over the Colorado Buffalo, sending the team's seniors out on a high note.

The win over the Buffaloes ended a five-game skid for the Utes, with Utah's last win coming against the Stanford Cardinal.

"Disappointing season for the Utes but it's always good to go out with a win," tweeted Eric Jones.

"Proud of this Utah Football team!" Dustin Pimm tweeted. Played with heart and passion all year long! Thanks to all the Seniors! Go Utes!"

"Glad the UTES ended with a win," The Bearded One tweeted. "This season was filled with could of, would of, should of. Did not live up to the potential."

The Utes ended with the same 5-7 record as last season, but this year's team was arguably better and has more prospect for the future.

"Anyone who doesn't think the team got better from last yr is crazy," Fareed tweeted. "Now team needs to learn to finish games and up speed at skill pos."

Although all the seniors will be missed, it is the performance and talent of senior Trevor Reilly that most fans will miss.

"Trevor Reilly will be in all #Utes memories," Grant Bagley tweeted. "Played thru last season with a torn ACL. Then was amazing this season with the INT to finish it."

Reilly intercepted Colorado quarterback Sefo Liufau's pass with about two minutes left in the game, sealing Utah's victory. The interception was fitting for an athlete that gave his all for the team each season.

"Beyond happy that Trevor got the interception to end his last game as a Ute!" Courtney Taylor tweeted. Classy guy and incredible athlete. Gonna miss him!"

"Trevor Reilly is a stud," Austin McDermott tweeted. "Thank goodness for him he deserves the best. What an awesome player."

"Trevor Reilly makes game-saving INT, throws ball (and helmet) into stands, ends career in style," Jon Siddoway tweeted.

Reilly ended his career with the Utes with 14 total tackles and an interception against Colorado.

Tight end Jake Murphy had a great day for the Utes, catching eight passes for 93 yards and one touchdown. Murphy had one fumble in the end zone, but was a major reason for the team's success against Colorado and was a reason for the team's overall success this season.

"Amazing how different the Utes are with Murphy," tweeted Chris Enger.

"Its too bad Jake Murphy couldn't play all season," Josh Clark tweeted. "We are a different team with him on the field."

"Jake Murphy has been a beast in the middle of the field," Fareed tweeted. "Jake Murphy's playing like he wants to get drafted this year!"

Murphy has been a game changer and has done a lot for the offense this season. While many want to see him play in the NFL, following the game Murphy said it's not his intention at this point to declare for the draft.

"At this point no," Murphy said. "It is hard to want to leave an atmosphere like this especially after a win. I feel like next year we can do some damage in the Pac-12. But I will sit down with coach Whittingham and talk about what would be the best thing for me to do."
