PAROS, Greece, May 23, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Police on the Greek island of Paros have arrested a 56-year-old woman for the illegal possession of 11 ancient artifacts.

A search of the unidentified woman's property turned up the antiquities, including nine segments of ancient columns, the Kathimerini news service reported Tuesday.

In another incident, the agency said police had conducted a fruitless search at the villa of another unidentified woman archeologist who had worked with Marion True, former director of the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.

True also has a villa on Paros and police seized illegal artifacts there last month.

Recently, police discovered a massive amount of illegal artifacts on the nearby island of Schinoussa.

Antiquities are considered to be state property of Greece and private ownership is forbidden.
