WEST VALLEY CITY — Granger entered Friday's game on a five-game losing streak and with its rushing attack and defensive, the Lancers snapped it.

Behind 303 rushing yards and two scores from running back Moana Finau, the Lancers ran away with a 52-14 win over the Hillcrest Huskies.

Granger quarterback Zach Ashman had a nice 37-yard second-half touchdown pass to Anthony Amiker to extend the Lancers' lead.

Along with giving up only 14 points, the Granger defense also found the end zone on a 40-yard interception return by JR Manuo.

With their first win since beating Kearns Aug. 30, the Lancers improve to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in Region 2 play. With the loss, the Huskies fall to 1-7 overall and 1-2 with their second consecutive loss.

Both teams have two games left to play season. The Lancers travel to West never week before hosting Hunter in the season finale, while the Huskies travel to Hunter next week before closing out the season with Cottonwood. You can follow David Winkworth on twitter @Davito23.
