LOGAN — Utah State made it official Saturday, announcing that Chuckie Keeton is done for the season after tearing his ACL and MCL in the first quarter of Utah State's 31-14 loss to BYU Friday night.

Keeton will undergo surgery next week, with an expected recovery time of eight months.

Keeton will finish the season with 1,388 yards passing and 18 touchdowns, with a 67 percent completion percentage. Keeton also had 241 yards rushing on 55 attempts and two rushing touchdowns.

"We've lost a great leader, great teammate, and a very productive football player," Matt Wells said on Saturday. "I have all the confidence in the world in Chuckie, along with our doctors and staff that he will come back stronger than ever next season."

As for the team, they jump right back into Mountain West Conference play on Saturday when they host Boise State.
