LOGAN —Sky View made the short trip to Logan on Thursday night and It didn't take long for Logan to take care of business. The Grizzlies built a 31-0 lead at halftime that would carry them to a perfect 7-0 record with a 52-21 thrashing of Sky View.

Senior quarterback Chase Nelson had another spectacular night, throwing for 249 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions. He also carried the ball 20 times for 180 yards.

Nelson used a bevy of receivers to put up those flashy numbers. Chad Artist caught five balls for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Tanner McIntire and Hartman Rector each caught a touchdown pass to go with their 44 and 39 receiving yards, but it was Taylor Compton's eight catches for 68 yards and a pair of touchdowns that carried the evening.

Although Sky View and Logan are cross-town rivals, they came together on Thursday night to host a "Pink Out" for Breast Cancer Awareness. Both schools wore pink clothing, makeup, and ribbons as a unified sign of support.

"I can't tell you how much that means to me," said Logan wide receiver Taylor Compton. "My mom is a breast cancer survivor and what a special moment to come out here and play. Things get put in perspective when close family members, especially your mom, has to go through something like that."

"Every two to three minutes someone is diagnosed," said Taylor's mother Shelley Compton. "We need to do anything and everything we can to help these women get early detection."

At halftime, Taylor and his mother were joined by Sky View players at midfield as they shared their feelings about the importance of early cancer detection.

At the end of the halftime ceremony the two Compton's shared a loving embrace as both stands cheered.

"If it wasn't for my family, I can't say that I would be here today," said Shelley Compton.
