Roosters started out as one of the anchor tenants on Historic 25th Street in Ogden during the renovation in the early 90s. Today, Roosters restaurant is 18 years old and is a part of Ogden's vibrant future... Kym's very involved with the local convention and visitor's bureau...She's supported the recruiting effort to help bring the recreation industry in Ogden and has been involved with the GOAL Foundation since its inception in July 2002....
Kym and her husband, Pete, were one of the first businesses in the revitalization of downtown Ogden's Historic 25th Street. As Kym says, it has a great family vibe where you can borrow a cup of sugar from another business. Pete, is the one who created all the recipes and menus for Roosters Brewing Company, which includes good eclectic mix of flavors, from Chile Verde to a nice steak or grilled salmon or tasty pasta.... They only serve good wholesome food here...
Roosters was Ogden's first micro-brewery, and Kym says they started bottling their original high-point brews. They have limited distribution, but you can make your purchase in select state retailers ... They've also expanded to a second location in Layton and now count 170 employees...
Kym is a second-generation restaurant owner.... Her family has been in the restaurant business for years. It wasn't her plan to enter the business, as she was working an accounting job in Washington, D.C right after college....But she returned to Salt Lake City, and, following a short stint with another company, left that business to run Roosters Brewing Company full-time with Pete... They have three sons and are working hard to invest in a community they will want to be a part of.
