SALT LAKE CITY — The much-anticipated rivalry game between BYU and Utah resumes this Saturday in Provo. Having lost three in a row to Utah, the Cougars are hungry for a victory.

The game is set to get underway at 8:15 p.m. MT from LaVell Edwards Stadium. Pregame coverage begins at 6:00 p.m. MT on the "Radio Home of the BYU Couagrs," KSL NewsRadio 102.7 FM/1160 AM.

Here's a sample of what the Utes are saying about Saturday's game and the Cougars ...

"We try to approach each week the same, and we have a preparation process that we adhere to; this week is no different in that regard."

Kyle Whittingham on if he thinks BYU will attack them through the air

"If you watch our film, you'd think they'd be really enticed to throw the football, but I think they're going to stick with what they do best. I'm sure they're going to mix some throws in there but they've got a quarterback who's an exceptional runner and I think they're not gonna deviate too far from that."

Running back James Poole on if this game is more important because it's BYU

"The Rivalry is always there; a lot of the guys are looking at it as another game. Me personally, I feel like it's another game we have to win. Yes it's BYU, but I feel we need to win this game no matter who it was."

Tight end Jake Murphy on putting loss to OSU behind them and focus on BYU

"BYU's always a fun game; we're going to be able to hopefully come out a redeem ourselves. With that emotional loss (to Oregon State) we've got to just forget it and move on because emotions will be high next Saturday as well; that's just how the rivalry is."

Kyle Whittingham on the BYU defense

"It's tough to run the ball on them; people have been able to throw a little bit, but nobody's really exposed any major weakness to this point. It's only two games, you don't have a whole body of work to go on so far they've played very intelligently and keep things in front of them in the secondary. (They're) similar to what you've seen for the last several years; there really hasn't been a big change."

Kicker Andy Phillips on his connections to BYU

"I know a lot about it; my grandparents have season tickets to BYU, so I've gone there my whole life. My wife was a Cougarette she was president of the Cougarettes two years ago so I would go down and watch her perform. I know a lot about the rivalry growing up in Utah it's a great opportunity and it's a fun week, but in the end it's another football game, and hopefully we come out on top; it's a good team that we're going against this week."
