The scholarship fund that was started in response to Larry Sagers final wishes has an update. According to Stephen Sagers they have already raised $15,000 dollars. The money has been going into two separate funds so that people can use part of it now while the overall Endowment fund is still gaining money.

The fund is for future Master Gardeners seeking an education with USU. In order for this to work out it needs to have a minimum of 25,000+ in the principal. After contributions from Larry Sagers, his family, the Thanksgiving Point Master Gardeners and several others we are close to our goal, but we still need some more donors.

Anyone can donate any amount and you can be the next donor! Visit https://www.usu.edu/giving/index.cfm?step=1

Because this is a new fund you will not see the "Larry Sagers Master Gardener Endowment Fund" listed under the "I would like to support" tab. Follow these steps instead...

1-Select "other"

2-In the Please Specify box type "Larry Sagers Master Gardener Endowment Fund"

3-Select what type of gift you'd like to give

4-Select amount

5-Submit by clicking "Add Gift"!

And your done! After doing this you will get a gift receipt within two weeks of making your contribution, as acknowledgment of your gift.

Larry wanted this scholarship for people who are in need of learning Master Gardener skills, but may not be able to afford it. The primary recipients of the scholarship will be those who already work in the industry, and those who are willing to teach these concepts to others after taking the classes. USU will select the beneficiaries.

It is a self sustaining scholarship so once the minimum corpus is achieved it will continue to gain interest. Please donate today!

To donate by mail send a check to the USU Extension at 4800 Old Main Hill Logan, Utah 84322-4800 C/O Brandon Monsen.
