SALT LAKE CITY — Coming off their come-from-behind win against in-state rival Utah State last week, the University of Utah came out and dominated the Weber State Wildcats in a lopsided 70-7 victory.

Sophomore quarterback Travis Wilson got things rolling early, connecting with James Poole for a 38-yard touchdown pass.

Former Ute John Cullen tweeted: "The flood gates are wide open on the Weber Oline they better have some screens and draws ready to go this could get ugly."

Wilson continued the assault by adding an 80-yard touchdown pass to Sean Fitzgerald. Following last week's great performance by Fitzgerald, fans have been impressed with his play.

"Fitzgerald is quickly becoming one of my favorite Utes this year!!" tweeted @Armyute4.

"Ummm, wow!" tweeted Bryan Packer. "Wilson to Fitzgerald for an 80 yard touchdown. Utes lead 14-0 in the 1st."

The Wildcats struggled, to say the least, with Utah's defense, who made it difficult for starting quarterback Jordan Adamczyk. Adding to the Wildcats' offensive woes was Utah tackle Tenny Palepoi. Palepoi was a major disruptor of the offense, with eight total tackles — 2.5 for a loss — and 1.5 sacks.

The Utes offense opened it up in the 2nd quarter, scoring five touchdowns from Kelvin York, Dres Anderson, Travis Wilson, Mike Honeycutt and Sean Fitzgerald.

"I'm so proud of my Utes," tweeted Sky Asher. "Wish we could play this way against EVERY team, and not the weakest teams."

"I am proud to be a Utes fan," tweeted Brian Lopez.

Some fans started to feel bad for the Wildcats, who were clearly the weaker opponent.

During the second half of play, many fans had already checked out of the game and were either focusing on other games around the league or Comic Con. However, Lucky Radley kept things moving for the Utes in the second half with a quick 17-yard touchdown reception.

"Lucky Radley with a TD!" tweeted Dan Sorensen. "One of my favorite #Utes ever. He's just a great guy."

"This is what's really encouraging to me: Our second unit picks up right where the first team left off!" tweeted Steve Bartle.

All in all, the Utes put up a great performance heading into Pac-12 play next Saturday against Oregon State. The last time the Utes scored 70 points in a game was in 1973.

"I don't care if they'd played an NAIA school, Utes' offense wouldn't have done this last year," tweeted Bubba Brown. "A lot of improvement."

"I think d Erickson has been huge for the utes so far," tweeted zach. "I don't think they beat u state with B Johnson."
