DALLAS — Two Dallas teenaged boys are credited with saving an allegedly kidnapped woman after they noticed the “attractive” woman in the backseat of a car asking for help.
This week, police released a 911 call made by the teen boys on Aug. 22. Jamal Harris, 17, and Aaron Arias, 19, were stopped at an intersection when they noticed a 25-year-old woman in the backseat of car, being driven by a man, they told NBC News. Their curiosity turned to concern when she turned to them and mouthed, “help me.”
"It's me and another guy, so we're checking out the girl in the backseat because, we're like, 'OK, she's kind of attractive,'" Arias said. "And then, all of the sudden, you know, the guy is turned back, looking at us."
According to NBC, the woman was allegedly kidnapped outside of an office building about an hour before Arias and Harris saw her. They called 911 and followed the car as it drove down U.S. 175. A police officer appeared shortly after, pulling over the car driven by Charles Atkins Lewis Jr., who has been charged in connection with the incident.
"She says we saved her life,” Arias said. “I guess you could say we did, but I don't want to be that person who says they're a hero."
