CARSON, Calif. (AP) -- Jeff Cunningham scored twice to help Real Salt Lake break the longest winless streak in Major League Soccer history with a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night.
Atiba Harris also scored as Salt Lake (1-5-1) earned its first road victory in club history in ending an 18-game winless streak that extended to Aug. 6, 2005.
Los Angeles (2-5-1) sustained its third consecutive loss and fourth in five games. The Galaxy has not scored in 300 minutes -- 19 short of the club record.
During the game, fans chanted "Fire Sampson" in reference to Galaxy coach Steve Sampson and "We Want Klinsmann," a reference to German World Cup coach Juergen Klinsmann, who lives in Huntington Beach.
Harris gave Real Salt Lake a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. After receiving Carey Talley's free kick, Harris beat defenders Ugo Ihemelu and Tyrone Marshall and fired a 10-yard shot between goalkeeper Kevin Hartman and the left post.
Cunningham, who replaced Harris in the 69th minute, made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute with a 5-yard shot off Talley's crossing pass from the right wing.
Cunningham finished the scoring in the 87th minute with a 22-yard shot into an open net.
Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Scott Garlick made eight saves for his 98th career victory and 45th career shutout. Garlick moved into fourth place all-time in MLS shutouts.
Midfielder Kyle Martino and forward John Wolyniec started for the Galaxy after being acquired from the Columbus Crew on Friday for Ned Grabavoy and Joseph Ngwenya.
