SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden says his son Beau, Delaware's attorney general, is doing well after undergoing a medical procedure at a Houston cancer center.

Biden says his son is "fine" and eager to get back to work.

The vice president is telling a crowd in his hometown of Scranton, Pa., that his son asked him to send his love from Delaware, where Beau Biden returned Thursday.

The 44-year-old Beau Biden was admitted earlier this week to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center after becoming weak and disoriented last week. The White House says he had a successful procedure but won't say what kind of procedure doctors performed.

Biden spoke at a college affordability event with President Barack Obama.
