SALT LAKE CITY — LeBron James has the nickname of King James and while on his way to see Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake, the police treated him like royalty.
James was late to the concert and the story is that Jay-Z would not start the concert without him. The police gave James a police escort to get to the concert on time.
Now the tune has changed after James posted the video. The Miami-Dade Police issued a statement saying the escort was wrong.
"It has been brought to our attention that a video was posted on the Internet by LeBron James ... where it shows him being escorted onto the property of Sunlife Stadium for a concert on Friday," the statement said. "Upon further investigation, it has been confirmed that the Miami-Dade Police Department did facilitate Mr. James from one intersection to another, in the adjacent area of the stadium. This was not a scheduled escort and although all safety precautions were taken, the department has identified these actions as a violation of departmental policy. The Miami-Dade Police Department will continue to look into the matter."
C-USA looks to add new bowls in Bahamas & Boca Raton in 2014 http://t.co/C8tELx8uxR

There, justice for James. Well, it was like getting a warning for flopping. It didn't really do anything, but he might think twice next time.
Bahama bowl game:
Conference USA isn't the best conference in college football, but it might have the best bowl game.
Brett McMurphy of ESPN tweeted out that Conference USA will be starting a bowl game series in the Bahamas starting in 2014. This bowl, along with an announced bowl in Boca Raton, will make 38 bowls total.
First report is that the MAC will be the opposing conference. It wouldn't be either conference's premier game, taking teams lower in the standings. This means schools like Marshall in West Virginia, Tulsa in Oklahoma, or any number of MAC schools — most are in the Great Lakes area Michigan, Ohio or Illinois — would get to travel to the Bahamas in the middle of December.
It is hard to predict the weather four months out, but it is safe to assume the Bahamas are a far superior vacation spot. Some mid-level teams might end up trying to tank their way to a beach vacation.
Last season the sports team at ksl.com went to see Utah State play in Boise. Here's hoping a local team can get a spot in the Bahama Bowl real soon.
Terrible own goal:
Unión Comerció was playing Universitario in Peruvian soccer in a must-win game to avoid being moved down a division. Union was doing okay, battling in a 0-0 game when Renzo Reaños stopped the ball in the box and set up for the goal to break the tie.
The problem was, Reaños was about to shoot at his own net. There was no one around Reaños, but he gathered the ball and took a quick shot at an unsuspecting goalie.
The ball hit the back of the net and suddenly Universitario was up 1-0. Just like that, Reaños scored the game-winning goal for the other team.
No one knows what he was thinking — of course any open net in soccer is like an oasis — but he did apologize on Twitter for the mistake.
Me siento muy mal, hoy perdimos por mi culpa..quiero pedir disculpas a mis compañeros y toda la gente Unión Comerció

That translates to “I feel so bad, my fault we lost today .. I apologize to my colleagues and all the people Union Comercio.”
Even professional athletes make mistakes and when it happens, sit back and enjoy.
