SYDNEY (AP) - Former U.S. Open champion Samantha Stosur has split with coach David Taylor and says Australian Fed Cup captain Alicia Molik will fill in on an interim basis.

Stosur won the U.S. Open in 2011, beating Serena Williams, and was a French Open finalist in 2010.

She says on the Tennis Australia website Saturday that "after six years working together my coach David Taylor and I have decided to part ways ... I owe so much of my success to Dave's hard work and enduring support."

The Australian won nine of 10 matches before being defeated by Simona Halep in the third round at Cincinnati on Thursday.

Taylor resigned as Australia's Fed Cup captain in December 2012 after seven years in the position to concentrate solely on coaching Stosur.
