INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - After Sunday's NASCAR race, Kurt Busch's next spin at the Brickyard could be in the Indianapolis 500.

Busch would like to enter next year's race, always held the same day as Sprint Cup's Coca-Cola 600. Busch passed this year's rookie test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He drove Ryan Hunter-Reay's primary car for Andretti Autosport during the May test.

Team owner Michael Andretti and Busch may work a deal to run an IndyCar Series race later this season, if the 2004 Cup champion is out of contention.

"Sometimes you have to throw away commonsense when you have a dream to go and do it," Busch said Saturday. "We'll see if it turns out. I mean, a lot of guys would love to do it, but there's that 600-mile race you got to do the night, that same night. So that's the big focus for a stock car guy. "
