This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Since the first day of summer was on June 21, it's not too late to plant flowers, trees or decorate your yard with gorgeous potted plants, according to Don Payne of Home and Yard Pottery.
Don didn't start out in the pottery and yard art business. He was in another industry for 25 years and after he sold his business, he needed something to do, so he bought Home and Yard Pottery five years ago. He now runs it in partnership with his wife, LeAnn. Since taking over, they've more than quadrupled their inventory.
At Home and Yard Pottery, Don can show you how to make a fire pit out of pots or plant fruit, palm or citrus trees, especially if you have a place you can move them in out of the cold. He says potted plants can change the look of your yard without planting a tree in the ground. Not to mention you can always move the plant around if you want to change it up. Many people are choosing pots as the way to grow fruit-bearing plants because they can better protect them from the cold.
Home and Yard Pottery also features outdoor art where Don supports local artists from around the state. These include metal art and glass balls. He can also assist in the creation of a custom fountain for your yard or sell you bonsai plants and supplies.
Speaking on Business is now on video. Check out the video edition of our radio program on the Zions Direct TV YouTube Channel. That's Zions Direct TV.
