Turkish author Erdal Oz died on Friday (5 May) at the age of 71.
The author's first book of short stories entitled Yorgunlar was published in 1960, as was his first novel Odalarda. He is perhaps best known for his books Deniz Gezmis Tells and The Night His Rose Faded.
According to The New Anatolian, Oz was arrested shortly after the 12 March 1971 military coup and went on to write political books incorporating traces of that era.
