WOODS CROSS, Utah — Goalkeeper Josh Ludlow stopped three penalty kicks and also made one himself leading Bountiful to a victory over Murray in the 4A boys soccer semifinals.

The match was tied 3-3 after two overtimes setting the stage for a dramatic finish.

It was an impressive duel between two skilled goalkeepers. Ludlow stopped a Murray shot in the second round of penalty kicks and Murray's Taylor Critchfield would then pull off an amazing, diving stop of a Bountiful attempt in round three. Murray had a chance to win it in round five but Ludlow came up with another stop to keep Bountiful alive.

It was all even at 4-4 after six rounds but in the seventh round Ludlow stopped his third penalty kick to give Bountiful the victory.

Both teams lit up the scoreboard in the first half combining for five goals. A goal by Murray's Clay Powell in the 47th minute evened the score at 3-3 where it would remain through regulation and two overtime periods.

Bountiful will try to win their 9th state championship Thursday night at Rio Tinto Stadium against Orem. The match will kickoff at 7p.m.
