SALT LAKE CITY — Jerry Sloan is no longer interested in the head coaching position with the Milwaukee Bucks. I spoke to Sloan by phone this evening as he was in Chicago for the NBA pre-draft camp.

I asked Jerry if he has taken himself out of consideration for the Bucks job and he said "Yes".

Sloan wanted to make it clear, "I was never offered the job", he said.

Bucks brass traveled to Sloan's Utah home last week to discuss the opening but when it was made public that the Bucks were interviewing other candidates, it was believed to be that they weren't targeting Sloan. Why would they need to interview others if Sloan was their choice.

NO NEED.

Even though Jerry Sloan doesn't have a job in the NBA, he is still keeping up with the players at the pre-draft camp in Chicago. Now, if you want to read between the lines go right ahead. Sloan wants to stay up to date JUST IN CASE he gets an offer he can't refuse.
