ALTA — Alta Ski Resort celebrated a huge anniversary in Apri1: 75 years in business.

One Utah family has been involved with the resort since the beginning, and they continue to be actively involved today.

Nick Nichols has been working at Alta for the past 46 years and is currently a director at the resort's ski school. Before him, his father and brothers all worked together as ski instructors.

"I think the 75 years that Alta has been here has been one of the greatest things that ever happened in the state of Utah," Nichols said. "There's an atmosphere that I don't know of that's in anywhere else.

Nichols will be calling it quits and retiring at the end of the ski season. But his granddaughter will carry on the family tradition as a fourth-generation ski instructor.
