Jacksonville's new unis and the great escape

SALT LAKE CITY — It seems some college football team unveils a new uniform once a week, but new unis are less common in the NFL. That's way seeing the Jacksonville Jaguars' new uniforms is pretty cool.

Whether you like the new look or not, it's cool to see a team at least trying something new.

The new look isn't a drastic change, but it's enough to be noticeable. Personally I like the new look and I'm a fan of the matte helmets. While the new uniforms may look like a breath of fresh air, it's probably not going to help the Jaguars dismal play too much.

Amazing Fan Catch

During the Milwaukee Brewers game in Sand Diego against the Padres earlier this week the Brewers' Yuniesky Betancourt went yard and a Padres fan made the highlight reel.

The home-run ball sailed into the stands and the Padres fan made a leaping grab. The fan totally ignored the fact that his landing pad was a bunch of concrete and iron, but when it comes to a big-league souvenir who cares?

Magic Trick Rundown Escape

During a baseball game between the University of Nebraska-Omaha and Oakland University a player pulled a move during a rundown that I've never seen before.

Nebraska-Omaha's Tyler Splichal was caught in a rundown between third and home and it looked like he didn't have a chance at escaping. Not only did he escape, but he also scored.

Splichal starts heading back to third when the catcher gets the ball and it appears that Splichal wasn't going to outrun him. So, instead of accepting the inevitable Spichal drops to the ground, causing the catcher to trip over him and he then gets up and heads home.

Everyone was a bit confused at first, but soon they realized the catcher never got the ball on Splichal's body and the Splichal Slide was born.
