Now that the Christmas and New Year's holidays are behind us and the crowds have thinned out, it's a good time to look toward Park City for day of mountain fun and dining. And that's especially true thanks to a terrific new Asian restaurant on Main Street in Park City called Yuki Arashi. In Japanese Yuki Arashi translates roughly as "snow storm." Originally owner Soo Chyung was just going to call his restaurant Yuki or, snow. That is until he realized people might be going around town talking about "yucky" sushi.

Well, there's nothing yucky about Yuki Arashi. Everything on the menu - from sushi and sashimi to cooked dishes - is served Asian "tapas" style. That is, in small plate sizes. So it's a great spot to mix and match. You might start out with Chef Matt Fischer's signature Millipede sushi roll - tempura shrimp and spicy tuna tartare rolled inside-out and encased in avocado - and then follow up the Millipede with a warm serving of prosciutto wrapped scallops and truffle oil.

Matt Fischer is very popular longtime Park City sushi chef and everything from the sushi bar is spectacular. But I also really liked the New Zealand grilled lamb "Lollipops" and sweet miso black cod, which is marinated for three days before being broiled to perfection. Another Yuki Arashi favorite of mine is the Toro Tian: It's a tower of wonderfully fatty bluefin tuna (toro) topped with caviar and served with homemade tortilla chips.

That's Yuki Arashi on Main Street in Park City - for a snow storm of flavor!
