NEW YORK, May 3, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Star Jones may be leaving ABC's "The View," sources have told "Entertainment Tonight."
Rumors of Jones' possible departure cropped up in the wake of the addition of Rosie O'Donnell, who was announced as Meredith Vieira's replacement when she heads to NBC's "Today" show.
O'Donnell has publicly criticized Jones for not revealing her drastic weight loss and implied she is hiding the fact her new svelte look is the result of a surgical procedure.
"Entertainment Tonight" reported Wednesday that sources within the Jones camp said it's "no secret" she does not plan on re-signing with the show when her contract expires in August.
"The View" released a statement in response to the report, simply stating: "Star is part of 'The View' family."
