(Ogden) Hayden Schenck nearly had a triple-double leading No. 3 Weber to a 68-39 win over West in the first round of the 5A state tournament.
Schenck had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. He suffered an ACL injury in the first round of last years state tournament against Brighton but has returned this season and leads 5A in scoring with 26 points per game.
Weber made 50 percent of their shots while holding West to just 22 percent shooting.
The Warriors also got a big game from Jaren McKnight with 15 points and Auston Tesch who had 12 points and 7 rebounds.
West was led in scoring by Denzel Latu with 9 points and Sunday Owda had 8 points and 7 rebounds.
Weber will play No. 4 Alta on Wednesday in the quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m.
