NEW YORK, May 1, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- It appears the assault case filed against rapper Foxy Brown by two nail salon employees is headed to trial in New York, it was reported Monday.

Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was supposed to be in New York Supreme Court for a hearing Friday, but the proceeding was postponed until May 26, at which time a trial date is expected to be set, SOHH.com reported.

Two workers at New York's Bloomie Nails claim the rapper attacked them in a dispute over payment for her manicure.

The rapper has twice rejected plea offers from prosecutors -- both of which would have meant no jail time.

She has been charged with misdemeanor assault, attempted assault and harassment.
